Under the patronage of his highness the Amir of Kuwait, KIU organized its third Expo 2016 from 9 to 11 October 2016 at the Sheraton Kuwait Hotel, the Diamond Hall and the Crystal in partnership with 4Fest for General Trading and Contracting Company and Four Films Printing Group. Around 60 from leading local factories, manufacturing companies and government agencies sponsored the event. The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Ms. Hind Al-Sabeeh inaugurated KIU Expo 2016.
The exhibition included a scene from the play “Hami Al-Diyar” that was written and directed by the late Abdul Amir al-Turki, and was screened in 1985. The play summarized the importance of promoting national industry rather than relying on external industries, which gives jobs to Young Kuwaitis and provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to engage in this vital sector. Actors like Jassim al-Nabhan, Musa Kazem, Khaled Al-Sejari, Mohammed Fayeq, and Mashari Al-Juman participated in the play.
